Reflect - Not in the fabric but in the attitude.
Reflect's first collection, named "Solidarity", aims to integrate Syrian children living in Istanbul into education. It draws its inspiration from art therapy carried out with Syrian refugee children living in Istanbul. Major concepts in their lives such as war, migration, chaos, and communal life gained a different meaning with Reflect's workshop and were reflected on the canvases. The images emerging from the imagination of children were also reflected on Reflect's products with embroidery through the interpretations of young designers and artists.
An image that emerged from the PEACE memorial canvas activity. The memorial canvas reflects experiences, helping children build bridges between the environment they are just getting used to and the memories they have left behind, as well as encouraging them to embrace changing conditions. It was named PEACE, as opposed to a war machine.
reflect's first collection "Solidarity” aims the educational integration of Syrian refugee children living in Istanbul. It takes it's inspiration from the art therapy session conducted with Syrian refugee children living in Istanbul. The images that flowed from the imaginations of the children related to their experiences of war immigration chaos and living in refugee camps were interpreted by young designers and were embroidered on reflect products.
PEACE is created through memory canvas activity. A memory canvas represents experiences and helps children to bridge the gap between their new habitat and their homes encouraging them to embrace changing situations. It is called PEACE just the opposite of a war machine.
