Journey to the Paradise of Birds
Harika Saylam, the author of the book "Journey to Birds' Paradise", lives in Istanbul with her children. Harika, who reads stories to her children every night before going to sleep, believes that every child should spend their childhood listening to stories.
Saylam, who feels lucky to have spent his childhood reading different books on boat trips with his family, states that he received special inspiration for story writing while passing through a canal on one of these boat trips and believes in the power of moments.
The book's illustrator, Fatih Küçük, has established a cartoon school in Kaş called Cartoon Mill. He organizes cartoon festivals in Kaş every year on his own. He also organizes free cartoon workshops for children in village schools in the region. A new Cartoon Mill will be built in Cappadocia very soon.
*This book is dedicated to all Syrian children who have lost their storytellers because of the war.
